CCDAutoPilot Features
Fully Automated Meridian Flip

Any experienced imager knows that the Celestial Meridian and a German Equatorial telescope mount make it difficult to create extremely long imaging sequences. Professional observatories around the world bypass this problem with the use of fork mount telescopes. Now with CCDAutoPilot, you can harness the flexibility of a high precision fork mount with the your German Equatorial telescope mount.

CCDAP2 provides an extremely flexible system to fully automate flipping your GEM at the appropriate time using a variety of powerful techniques. With the addition of a instrument rotator, your mount is capable of flipping the meridian with the highest accuracy.

Self Guider
Whether used with an off-axis guider or an SBIG camera with internal guider or even an AO7, you can flip the meridian and rotate your camera so that imaging continues with the original guide star without re-calibration.

External Guide Scope
Flip the meridian and CCDAP2 will auto-acquire a new guide star and continue imaging with no re-calibration.

Unguided Imaging
Even unguided imagers will benefit by having your images on either side of the meridian properly aligned with minimal loss of overlapped data.

High Accuracy Plate Solving
In order to achieve pointing accuracy of just a few arc-seconds, CCDAP2 supports both CCDSoft5 & TheSky6 or PinPoint plate solving technology. With CCDAP2, you have all the controls you need to fine-tune the software for your particular imaging setup.
