Automated Flat Frame Acquisition

Taking flat frames just got a whole lot easier thanks to CCDAutoPilot. No more fumbling at the keyboard trying to get all your flats in a small period of time. No longer do you need to wake up at 5:30 am to get the perfect dawn flats. Whether you are taking automated dawn or dusk flats, or firing off flats with your light box, CCDAP2 fully automates the acquisition of flat-frames.


Unattended Flat Frame Acquisition
At the precise time best for sky-flats, CCDAutoPilot will automatically move your telescope to the best location in the sky and take flat frames as fast and efficiently as possible with no user intervention. If taking flats after an all-night imaging run, at dawn, CCDAP2 will un-park your telescope, collect your sky-flats, re-park your telescope and turn off your CCD's coolers.

Flats Now
In addition to unattended flat frame acquisition, CCDAP2 also allows you to take flats when you need them. Place you light-box on your scope, select the filter, bin mode and target ADU level for you flat frames, and CCDAP2 does the rest. No more endless test exposures to achieve optimum flat frames. Just point and click. 'Flats Now' also supports sky and dome flats.

Dithering
To avoid unwanted stars in median combined flat masters, CCDAP2 now offers dithering up to 600 arc-seconds during flat frame acquisition.
